Well, the movie Being John Malkovich has finally been released. As much as we loved and cared for our Being John Malkovich, nurtured it to health, fed it from a glove cleverly designed to look like a mother Film, we finally had to send the little guy out into the wilderness. Now it will be forced to fight and survive the harsh conditions on instinct alone. Don't be sad; it is nature's way. Also, we tagged Being John Malkovich with a special homing beacon, so we will be able to monitor its movements and mating habits from our field research office. Here are the post-release updates:

  • NEW* BJM has blown up. Look HERE to see the wonderful Awards and Nominations.
  • The BJM soundtrack has been released on Source through Astralwerks in the US and Virgin in the rest of the world. It includes new songs by the likes of Puff Daddy, Kid Rock, and The Pogues. Ok, it doesn't really have any of these bands on it. It does, however, have the original score by Carter Burwell, a new song by Iceland's very own Bjork, and a remix song by the guy who made some of the Beastie Boys music I think.
  • John Malkovich is a bad ass good guy. Check out his latest good deed here.
  • This Halloween kids ditched the Pokeman, Spiderman, and Otherman costumes to don the more theatric and dignified Malkovichman costume. Don't you dare pass this inspiring clip of the little pranksters up.
  • There is nothing in movies more exciting than the handsome and beautiful actors and actresses. Well, maybe digital monkeys and green, fiery explosions... but you can't really ask them questions, so we just put up these interview clips with Cameron Diaz, John Cusack, Catherine Keener, and John Malkovich.
  • JM INC. is the name of the company John Cusack and Catherine Keener start in the movie, trying to profit from their portal into John Malkovich's head. As part of the internet promotions, we created this dubious website and 800 number for people to call, asking "ever wanted to be someone else?". We got a ton of sign-ups, a few pissed-off customers, and a really cheesy space/new-age themed art direction. We'll be posting the results of the campaign/experiment pretty soon, but for now you should just check out the pages.

    • And of course, we have the old standards that you have grown to love and frequent:

  • Venice Interrogations: The Italians kidnapped Spike Jonze for a few hours and tied him up in a dark basement to ask questions. Following orders and POW protocol, Spike gave them nothing but the straight truth, holmes. Watch, portal-vision style.
  • We just answered the eleventh round of letters. Very exciting. Check it out, and send your own Letters to the Editor: allowing you, kind and praiseworthy reader, to speak your voice and ask questions of us and the cast/crew of Being John Malkovich. Things are getting really steamy, I'll tell you that much.
  • Lloyd Rice is quickly going insane. I don't think the entries will continue much longer. Check out his diary, and let's all pray.
  • New captions for the photo album from Spike Jonze. We got a lot of weird shit that couldn't make the cut even if it made us laugh, so if you wrote all the dirty stuff about the dwarf-felchers, don't expect to see it posted.
  • The ever-popular Noodlecam! (Now, if you go to the page and The Nood is not online, that doesn't mean it is a scam and Noodleman is fake. Stop being a dick in the chatroom. It just means Mark is not at work or on front of the computer. He's probably making his rounds or at home sleeping or whatever.) There isn't much your parents, teachers, priests and pastors, football coaches, and best friends could have told you- even in your most dire times of need, at their most haphazardly intuitive- that could you have possibly made more of a difference in your life than the words you will hear and read over the next few weeks from Mr. Mark Noodleman. Now, in the rare event that our super high-tech powerful T-7 digital booster line isn't pumping out 3x screen resolution video and CD audio, you can always resort to downloading some interview highlights we have posted on his page. Otherwise, when he is around and the god's of technology are smiling upon us, you get to see little pictures! and chat! with the Nood'.
